When was the last time you closed an application in frustration because you couldn't complete your task in a reasonable amount of time? You click yourself silly, the buttons are unclear and you get a lot of unnecessary information thrown at you. These are all examples of a poor User Experience(UX).
At Dynamics4Business, we believe that UX is not a luxury, but a necessity. A good User Experience ensures that people can work efficiently, pleasantly and error-free with a system.
What exactly is User Experience?
UX is about the total user experience while using a system, application or service. It goes beyond just ‘pretty design. Consider:
Ease of use - Can you find what you are looking for without explanation
Efficiency - How quickly do you reach your goal?
Fault sensitivity - How often does a user accidentally make a mistake?
Satisfaction - How does a person feel when using?
In short: UX is everything that makes a system nice to work with.
UX is not an afterthought, but starting point
On LinkedIn, we wrote aptly:
“Usability is not an afterthought, but the starting point of any good design.”
In one of our recent posts, we asked: ‘User-friendly ... but for whom really?’
Because the answer to that determines whether an app is enjoyable or frustrating.
We identify four key UX pillars:
You must be able to complete your task - The core of UX: does the app help you achieve your goal?
Immediately clear - You don't want to have to think about the controls. The app should feel logical.
Also for beginners - Whether you are using the app for the first time or the hundredth time, it should be intuitive.
Recognition helps - Smart design choices make new apps feel like familiar tools
UX not only delivers convenience, but also returns
In another post, we wrote that UX also directly affects the development process. In fact, good UX design (including clickable prototypes) ensures:
More efficient development - keen on the right functionalities from the beginning
Less support - users can work independently
Time Saving - the user is ready faster
UX is an integral part of our framework
At Process4people, we use a framework To guide digital transformation in a structured and successful way. UX here is not an isolated step, but is woven throughout the entire process. Our earlier blog on the benefits of using a framework, such as uniformity and recognition, also shows that UX is woven throughout the process.

UX is not a trick, but a way of thinking. That's why we also invest in UX knowledge internally. For example, colleague Lisa van Baast recently completed her UX basic training at UX Academy. She delved into user research, wireframes and design thinking.
“With her new knowledge, we will help our customers even better: with apps that are not only smart, but also intuitive and enjoyable to use.”
How to move forward?
Improving UX starts with awareness. Ask yourself (or your team) the question: “Does this make sense to the user?”
Often the answer turns out to be surprising.
